About PYQDeck
PYQDeck is a free archive of Bihar Engineering University (BEU) B.Tech previous-year examination questions, organized by semester, subject, module, and year — with worked solutions where they exist. No sign-up, no paywall.
Why it exists
BEU past papers circulate as photographs in WhatsApp groups: a blurry image of a page, forwarded until nobody knows which year it came from. You can’t search a photograph, you can’t tell whether a question has been asked four times or once, and you can’t see which module a paper actually leans on. PYQDeck exists because the questions were never the missing part — the structure was. Typing them into a database makes it possible to ask which topics repeat, which modules carry the most marks, and what a paper in a given subject usually looks like.
Where the papers come from
From examination papers circulated among students after their examinations have finished — shared by students, collected from batch groups, and contributed by people who spotted a gap in the archive. They are then transcribed and typed in by hand, one question at a time, and tagged with subject, exam year, module, marks, and question number.
That hand transcription is also the main source of error: a mis-read symbol, a dropped subscript, a diagram that doesn’t survive being turned into text. PYQDeck claims no ownership of the examination material itself and will remove anything on request — see the terms.
How solutions are produced
Only some questions have a worked solution, and the archive is deliberate about showing which. Most solutions are generated with AI assistance and then checked on a sample basis — not one by one, because there are more of them than one student can personally verify. Every solution produced that way is labelled AI Assisted on the page, so you always know what you’re reading.
They can be wrong. Each one carries a vote and a report button, and those reports are what drive corrections — a reported solution gets looked at directly. Questions with no solution are shown as questions, with nothing invented to fill the gap. Treat every answer as a starting point to check, not a marking scheme; the disclaimer spells this out.
How questions are organized
Every question is placed in a module of its subject’s syllabus and tagged with its year and marks, which is what makes the rest work: browsing a subject by module instead of by paper, seeing how many questions a module has attracted across all years, and spotting when the same question has been asked in several years. Related questions are matched by meaning rather than keywords, so a rephrased repeat still surfaces.
Is this an official BEU site?
No. PYQDeck is built and run independently by a BEU student, not by the university, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by it. For anything authoritative — syllabus, schedules, results — go to the university directly.
Who built it
PYQDeck is built and maintained by Raiyan Hasan, a BEU student, and paid for out of pocket. It also exposes a free MCP server so AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT can browse the same question bank directly.
