Privacy Policy

Last updated 31 August 2026.

Who this covers

This policy covers pyqdeck.in and the PYQDeck Android application, both operated by Raiyan Hasan as an independent, student-run archive of Bihar Engineering University (BEU) B.Tech previous-year question papers. PYQDeck is not affiliated with BEU. Browsing question papers, solutions, the syllabus, and search is entirely public and needs no account. An optional account is required only for a small number of features, described below. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.

What we collect

We never ask for your phone number or student ID, and you can use the whole archive without giving us anything. If you choose to create an account, we receive your email address and, if you sign in with Google or GitHub, the name and profile picture on that account. What our servers process is limited to the following:

  • Request logs. Standard technical data for every request — IP address, browser user agent, and timestamp — used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. These are not linked to an identity or sold.
  • Your account, if you create one. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, which stores your email address and, for Google or GitHub sign-in, the name and profile picture on that account. We use it only to tell votes apart and to run the features that need an account — never for advertising, and we do not sell it. You can view, change, or permanently delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, or via the account deletion page.
  • Solution votes. An upvote or downvote is stored against your account, so one account counts once per solution and you can change your own vote.
  • Solution reports. Reporting a wrong or incomplete solution needs an account, and the report is stored against it so the same account can’t report the same solution twice and so we can tell you when it has been fixed.
  • Push notification tokens (app only). If you allow notifications in the Android app, the device’s Expo push token is stored so we can send occasional updates — for example, telling you that a solution you reported has been fixed. Revoking notification permission stops this.
  • Local preferences. Recent searches and display settings are stored on your own device and are not transmitted to us.

Who processes your data

Accounts are handled by Clerk, which stores your sign-in details on servers in the United States under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your password — PYQDeck does not use passwords at all; sign-in is by emailed code, passkey, Google, or GitHub. Everything else (question papers, solutions, votes) is stored on our own database.

Your choices and deleting your data

You can use the entire archive without an account. If you have one, you can review or change what it holds from Settings → your name in the Android app, and you can delete it permanently — along with your email address and your votes — either from that same screen or through the account deletion page, which needs no app install. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Analytics

The website uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to measure page views and loading performance in aggregate. Vercel Analytics is cookie-less and does not build a cross-site profile of visitors.

Cookies and advertising

PYQDeck intends to show ads served by Google AdSense on content pages to cover hosting costs and keep the archive free. Where ads are active, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and Google’s own description of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Third-party links and tools

Some pages let you hand a question off to an external service of your choosing — a web search, or an AI assistant connected through our MCP server. Those services operate under their own privacy policies, which we don’t control.

Children

PYQDeck is intended for university students and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the “last updated” date above will change with it. Continued use of the site after that reflects acceptance of the revised policy.
