Degree to which software meets specified requirements and user needs (IEEE). Conformance to explicitly stated functional/performance specs and implicit characteristics expected.

Three Dimensions (McCall / Garvin)

1. Product Operation (while in use):

• Correctness, Reliability, Efficiency, Integrity, Usability

2. Product Revision (when being modified):

• Maintainability, Flexibility, Testability

3. Product Transition (when moved to new environment):

• Portability, Reusability, Interoperability

Some textbooks simplify as: Functionality, Maintainability, Usability or Process / Product / Business quality - also acceptable with explanation.
