Advantages:

• Simple, easy to understand and manage
• Clear milestones, documentation at each phase
• Works well for small, stable-requirement projects
• Discipline, predictability

Limitations:

• No working software till end → late risk discovery
• Difficult to accommodate change (frozen SRS)
• Customers see product late (poor feedback)
• Not suitable for large, complex, OO, high-risk projects
• Testing only at end → costly fixes

Ideal for: payroll, library systems where requirements well-understood.
