Uses of Applets
1. What Were They For? (beginner history!)
Before JavaScript matured, applets brought live programs to web pages: animations, calculators, games, charts! Write once, run in any browser (with plugin!).
2. Classic Uses (exam list!)

4. Why Dead? (viva must-know!)
Security holes (sandbox escapes!) + slow plugin + no mobile + JavaScript/HTML5 won! Browsers removed NPAPI (~2015-18). Applets deprecated (Java 9+)!
