Harmony in the Society
1. What Society Is (in UHV)
Society = people living together in relationships, cooperatively, sharing common goals for human fulfilment. It is an extension of family (which is basic unit) — family → society → nation → world.
Harmony in society = peaceful co-existence where relationships are fulfilled via values (trust, respect) and systems ensure justice, production, and order for all.
2. From Family to Society — Expansion
- Family: small group with direct relationships, sharing.
- Society: larger group with human-human relationships at scale, needing systems (education, health, production, exchange, justice) that reflect human values, not just power/money.
3. Systems Needed for Harmony (exam list)
| System | Purpose for Harmony |
|---|---|
| Education system | Ensures right understanding in every member |
| Health system | Ensures Body protection/nurturing |
| Production system | Produces required physical facility within nature's capacity (right assessment) |
| Exchange/distribution system | Sharing for prosperity (not hoarding) |
| Justice / order system | Protects right relationships and corrects without revenge (reformation) |
All five must be people-friendly and eco-friendly, guided by humanistic values.
4. Harmony vs Contention
Current society often has contention due to wrong understanding (facility race, differentiation on body/post). Harmony requires right understanding as base, then relationship values applied at scale.
5. Worked Checks
Is society just collection of individuals? No, it's network of relationships. If trust missing, society fragments despite buildings.
Check harmony: Do I naturally accept living cooperatively rather than competing to exploit? Yes.
Example: Cooperative housing where production (shared tools) and justice (fair rules) reflect harmony vs gated competition.
6. Exam Points
- Define society as extension of family with relationships — 3-5 marks, frequent.
- Show harmony in society needs right understanding + relationship values — 5 marks, frequent.
- List five systems (education, health, production, exchange, justice) with purpose — 7 marks, very frequent (the most common society question).
- Distinguish harmony vs contention — 3 marks.
