Existence as Co-existence of mutually interacting units in all-pervasive space
1. Two Realities: Units and Space
Existence = all that exists = units (limited, active) in space (unlimited, all-pervasive, no activity, transparent).
- Units: limited in size, active (e.g., atom, plant, animal, human) — each recognizes and fulfils relationship with other units, and transforms via activity.
- Space: unlimited, all-pervasive (every unit is in space), no activity, but reflects, transparent — it is the background that allows units to be, to move, to co-exist.
Co-existence = units co-exist in space, submerged in it, interacting while space remains unchanged.
2. Key Characteristics
| Aspect | Units | Space |
|---|---|---|
| Nature | active, limited size, formed, recognized | no activity, unlimited, reflecting |
| Change | transforms, evolves | remains same, continuous |
| Interaction | units interact with each other in space | space does not interact but allows interaction |
Units are energized in space; space energizes no? Actually space is equilibrium energy? In UHV, space is constant energy.
3. Why This Matters
- Co-existence is ever-present: even when units conflict, space remains. Harmony is to be in tune with co-existence, not to create it.
- Understanding that units are limited but space is unlimited helps grasp holistic perception (next topic).
4. Worked Illustration
Room space and furniture units: furniture can be rearranged (units active), space remains. Even if furniture removed, space stays.
Similarly, humans (units) can change, but existence (units + space) remains co-existence.
Check: Can unit exist without space? No. Can space exist without units? Yes (empty space).
5. Exam Points
- Define existence as units in space and co-existence — 5 marks, very frequent.
- Distinguish units (limited, active) vs space (unlimited, no activity) — 5-7 marks, very frequent (common table).
- Give example (room + furniture) — 3 marks.
- State space is all-pervasive, reflecting — 3 marks.
