Holistic perception of harmony at all levels of existence
1. What Holistic Perception Means
Holistic perception = seeing the whole existence as co-existence (units in space) and understanding harmony at all levels together, not in isolation:
Levels of harmony:
- Individual (Self) — harmony within Self (thought, feeling aligned).
- Family — harmony in relationships (values).
- Society — harmony among families (systems).
- Nature — harmony among four orders (mutual fulfilment).
- Existence — co-existence of units in space.
Holistic means seeing interconnectedness — disturbance at one level affects others.
2. Why Holistic Is Needed
Studying only one level (e.g., prosperity alone) leads to partial, unsustainable solutions. Holistic perception shows human is part of larger order and must live in tune with all.
3. Working Steps
- Understand Self as co-existence of Self and Body.
- Understand family as harmony in relationships.
- Understand society as extension and nature as four orders.
- See existence as units in space ⇒ holistic view where harmony already exists, human participation is to be harmonious.
4. Example of Holistic vs Fragmented
Fragmented: "My happiness needs more salary" → isolated individual view, may exploit nature/society.
Holistic: "My happiness needs right understanding, which includes family harmony, societal justice, and nature's fulfilment" → actions become eco-friendly, people-friendly.
5. Exam Points
- List four/five levels of harmony (Self, Family, Society, Nature, Existence) — 5-7 marks, very frequent (the classic holistic question).
- Explain why holistic vs fragmented — 5 marks, frequent.
- Show that understanding at one level helps next — 3 marks.
- Diagram of levels as concentric circles — 3-5 marks, frequent.
